Our first outing of the year was spent in Della Resorts. What a place to be, I must say!
If you are looking for a destination to spend your vacation, weekend or just a day, Della is your answer.
Della Resort was one of the places we wanted to book for our new year holidays. But we were late to do so and hence decided to just visit it for a day.
Tip: The resort is almost packed round the year, which we missed observing. So, plan way ahead of your holidays and book the place to stay. The resort runs offer from time to time on its website, so just keep a check.
HOW TO REACH
Sprawled in 50 acres, Della Resort is located in Lonavala, Maharashtra.
The place is around 2 hours drive from Mumbai. From Pune, it is just an hour drive away.
If you are travelling by car, from Mumbai, you need to be on Mumbai Bengaluru highway. After taking the exit to Khandala/Lonavala on AH47, one left turn will take you towards the Kune Village Road.
Away from the hustle-bustle of the main city, one travels in a narrow but well-maintained road to reach this place. This road leads to Della Enclave Road which will take you to the destination.
Tip: Near the place, the Google Map warbles sometimes and shows the place a little behind the area where it is situated. We were no exception and hence ended up crossing all the four gates of the resort to find empty land beyond. The entry point is from the first gate itself so no need to go further.
The place enchants you immediately with its beautiful landscaping and impressive architectural design. Facing the Sahyadri Mountains this place gives you a feel of a luxurious city near an oasis.
The resort also flaunts an amazing adventure park which has both indoor and outdoor activities to satiate the adventurer in you.
Thorough checks are done at the entry point. The temperature of every visitor is taken. No mask No entry is strictly followed.
With a few turns, you reach the main area where the valet will take your vehicle. From there onwards you need to be on foot.
The place had several visitors coming in and out that day. However, there was ample space allowing everyone to maintain social distancing.
Now if you are a day visitor, like us, you need to take passes for dine-in. You have to buy another set of tickets if you wish to dive into some adventure sports or activities too.
The passes for dine-in can be reimbursed in any of the restaurants where you wish to eat. The cost of an adult pass is Rs 750/- per person. Kids up to the age of 10 are free.
For adventure sports and activities, the cost depends upon the type of sports or activity you want to indulge in. The starting price is Rs 2000/- per person and so on.
IN AND AROUND
Beautiful fountains and topiary adorn the place in and around the various restaurants spread in different corners of the resort.
The winter sun was pleasant and people were sitting outside having their lunch. On one side lay the rows of villas and on the other there was the Italian restaurant.
You have so many picturesque locations to click all around. The property looks blissful with swimming pools and picturesque gardens.
As we moved further, we came across another group of buildings which were for the purpose of stay. Della Resorts has many different places to stay as per the need of their guests.

ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS
Not only this, Della Resorts is a pet-friendly zone and hence the visitors can bring along their pets. If you dont have one you can easily enjoy with the pets kept in the resort itself.
Some adorably cute dogs were kept in the pet area from where you can hire them and take for walks. The kids had loads of fun playing around with these well-trained lovelies.
On the other side, there was a stable of horses. Children and adults were riding them around the resort. The horses looked well-groomed with their coats shining under the sun.
Dog Walks and Pony trots happen in the common area. There was a Swoop Swing and Zip Line as well but it wasn’t working on the day of our visit.
The other sport activities are a little further inside. Della Adventure Park caters to the need of all types of sport lovers.
For the Extreme sports lovers, it has Della Swoop, Flying Fox and Rocket Ejectors.
Zorbing, Artificial Rock Climbing, Trampoline are also some of the many sports which one can enjoy.
For the Not-So adventurous ones, they have activities like Carrom, Chess, Pool Tables, Table Tennis, Shooting, Archery, Dart Board and many more.
All in all, I can say that the day may end but not the activities.
The service provider informed us that there are around 6 Multi-Cuisine Restaurants serving various cuisine. However, we were able to explore only 4 and had lunch in one of them.
The Italian Restaurant ‘Villa Bistro’ was full and there was a huge waiting line, so we moved on towards ‘Creme Della’.
Maybe due to the occasion of New Year, we found to our dismay that it was also crowded. Roaming around we decided to go to the ‘Parsi Dhaba’ which is close to the ‘PNF Resto-Bar’.
Though the place was full but the waiting list was short. Putting our names on the list we went and sat in the front garden. As our kids enjoyed watching the dogs in the Pet Area we soaked in the view of Sahyadri around us.
It was late afternoon and we were famished by the time we entered the restaurant. The delight which this place gave us was doused by the food provided.
I cannot say, whether it was the rush on that particular day or the shortage of staff or just the food itself but it was not up to the mark.
Not only the taste was ordinary but they had not even served it warm. The service was way too slow. However, as we all were hungry and tired, we finished the meal and came out.
Tip: If you are visiting for the day, the first thing you should do is to put your name on the list in the restaurant of your choice. Thereafter you can explore the place. You can also pre-book your reservations online or through phone.
Della Resorts and Adventure Park is a great place to be. The charm of this place will stay with you for days after your visit. Whether you are a solo visitor or visiting the place with your family and friends, this place gives you memories of the lifetime.
