And it is December!!! It is Winter and Yay!!! Christmas is coming.

I Just Love December

Hello to all you lovely readers!!!

I can’t believe that we are already in the last month of this year. Within few days we will be crossing the threshold towards 2019. How quickly has this year gone by!!! Don’t you think so??

Ah! The time has its own way of showing its presence.

That is why we need to invest it wisely. And I believe, one of the best ways of investing the time wisely is ‘Reading Books’, isn’t it.

On that note let me bring you my list of chosen books for the month of December,2018.

Some of the very fine authors are bringing out their books this month which is the reason of my extreme happiness. So, without further ado let’s begin-

The first book, which I am so excited to share about, is Christopher Paolini’s The Fork, The Witch and the Worm.

To be honest, I had no idea that this book was coming out. I had read ‘The Inheritance Cycle’ a long-long time ago. The ending of the series had left me wanting for more but with the passage of time, I eased out of that feeling. However, last week when I was looking out for the new releases to buy from, I came upon this book.

Like a child who just found his lost toy back, I got so emotional. Jumping with joy, I immediately pre ordered the book as it releases at the end of this month. I.AM.SO.VERY.EXCITED!!!

Welcome back to the world of Alagaësia. It’s been a year since Eragon departed Alagaësia in search of the perfect home to train a new generation of Dragon Riders. Now he is struggling with an endless sea of tasks: constructing a vast dragonhold, wrangling with suppliers, guarding dragon eggs, and dealing with belligerent Urgals and haughty elves. Then a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors, and an exciting Urgal legend offer a much-needed distraction and a new perspective. This volume features three original stories set in Alagaësia, interspersed with scenes from Eragon’s own unfolding adventure.

Included is an excerpt from the memoir of the unforgettable witch and fortune-teller Angela the herbalist . . . penned by Angela Paolini, the inspiration for the character, herself!

Relish the incomparable imagination of Christopher Paolini in this thrilling new collection of stories based in the world of the Inheritance Cycle.

The second book is from another of my favourite story teller – Nora Roberts. She is bringing the second instalment of the series ‘The One’. Around a year before in the month of December, she had brought out the first book in this Series. It was a huge hit and nothing less is expected from this one as well. Have a look yourself-

They look like an everyday family living an ordinary life. But beyond the edges of this peaceful farm, unimaginable forces of light and dark have been unleashed.
Fallon Swift, approaching her thirteenth birthday, barely knows the world that existed before—the city where her parents lived, now in ruins and reclaimed by nature since the Doom sickened and killed billions. Traveling anywhere is a danger, as vicious gangs of Raiders and fanatics called Purity Warriors search for their next victim. Those like Fallon, in possession of gifts, are hunted—and the time is coming when her true nature, her identity as The One, can no longer be hidden.

In a mysterious shelter in the forest, her training is about to begin under the guidance of Mallick, whose skills have been honed over centuries. She will learn the old ways of healing; study and spar; encounter faeries and elves and shifters; and find powers within herself she never imagined. And when the time is right, she will take up the sword, and fight. For until she grows into the woman she was born to be, the world outside will never be whole again.

Another release on 31st December, 2018 is Sara Holland’s ‘Evermore’. A sequel to ‘Everless’, this book has high expectations. I haven’t read the prequel but plan to read it before I lay my hands on this. I found the gist quite interesting.

Jules Ember was raised hearing legends of the ancient magic of the wicked Alchemist and the good Sorceress. But she has just learned the truth: She is the Alchemist, and Caro—a woman who single-handedly murdered the Queen and Jules’s first love, Roan, in cold blood—is the Sorceress.

The whole kingdom believes that Jules is responsible for the murders, and a hefty bounty has been placed on her head. And Caro is intent on destroying Jules, who stole her heart twelve lifetimes ago. Now Jules must piece together the stories of her past lives to save the person who has captured her heart in this one.

The last book for my First on Friday December picks is ‘Once Upon a River’. The title piqued my interest and the design of the cover gave me the vibes of something mysterious. Reading the summary made me more curious about the story. Something tells me that this tale is going to stay with me for a long time after I read it and hence, it came to be in my TBR list.

A dark midwinter’s night in an ancient inn on the Thames. The regulars are entertaining themselves by telling stories when the door bursts open on an injured stranger. In his arms is the drowned corpse of a little child.

Hours later the dead girl stirs, takes a breath and returns to life.

Is it a miracle?

Is it magic?

Or can it be explained by science?

So which one caught your interest among these four books? Are there any books among the new releases which you would like to recommend me?
