Music was and has been always my first love. I am certain that before I started knocking the doors leading to the world of books I was happily swimming in the vast ocean of Music. It is difficult to decide which among the two I love the most.

Music and Books are both a part of me. I need to have both around me to make me feel whole. My love for books had made me visit the world of Blogosphere. Now, when I feel quite settled here, I thought of inviting my musical part as well into this amazing world.

And with these thoughts, I present you a new section of Preeti’s Panorama –

This section under the Entertainment category will introduce you to some of my favourite music pieces and musicians/ singers. Hope you love it as much as I do.

For the starters, I present you 5 songs which will remain my favourites forever. These are the songs which are so close to my heart that I never get tired of them even if I listen to them umpteenth times:-

‘My Way’ by Frank Sinatra

Whenever I listen to this song, it just touches my soul. Each word reverberates within my body as it brings my whole life in front of me. Every time I hear it I just fall in love with it more and more. This combination of such beautiful lyrics and Frank Sinatra’s voice builds a magic which makes me feel connected to the song on a whole new level.

‘Words’ by Boyzone

When I had heard this song six years ago (yup, I was an ignorant person living under the stone then), I had never thought that it would stay with me for life. It was the first time when I fell in love with a voice. This song has been dear to me from then and I can’t get over it (And I am glad that I can’t :))

‘This is Me’ by Keala Settle

Though this song is new in my list it is the strongest among all. Keala has put her soul in this song which can be felt when you hear it. When I listen to this song, goose bumps cover my body; my eyes tear-up but my heart becomes much stronger. It energizes me with so much enthusiasm that I feel like I am ready to take everything in my stride.

I have specifically put this video link to show that the singer felt every word when she sang it and that is why this song is not a song anymore – it has become an anthem. See how Keala herself gets the strength from the lyrics as she sings and comes out of her shell making it an otherworldly experience.

Take a look

‘I have a Dream’ by ABBA

I had recently written a post on my favourite genre where I had talked about hope. (Read the post here) This song just bolsters up my faith in hope and all the good in humanity. It is such a positive song with such a soothing melody that I feel instantly light and happy.

Check it out

‘Mic Drop’ by BTS

Yup, I am an ARMY. A fan of Bangtan Boys. Being a fan of K-pop music for over a couple of years, I can confidently say that this boy band works on a different level altogether. This group of seven young boys is a sensation in the international arena of music today. Their songs are not only known because of good music and singing, but also because of the message they carry. They have come out as a guiding voice for the new generation and that is something truly magnificent.

In addition to it, I am a die-hard fan of their dancing. Don’t believe… See for yourself

Those are my 5 favourite international songs which will last with me for eternity. What are yours? Do let me know in the comment section below…

Until then,

  1. Ah! This list includes most of my favourites. Great minds et al? 😉
ABBA and Sinatra are irresistible, aren’t they.

    1. Couldn’t agree with you more. I love their voices, the music they made… Everything about their songs was incomparable. 🙂

  2. I used to be a Boyzone fan. My favorite was ‘Baby can I hold you tonight?’. Few others include ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ by Dire Straights, songs by Lobo and John Denver. Your post made me nostalgic.

    1. Oh yes! Even I liked the song ‘Baby can I hold you tonight’ from Boyzone. The main vocal singer had such a beautiful voice. And I am checking these songs which you have written here. I love hearing new singers 🙂

  3. Music moves life…there is a magic in music that takes us into a different world and there is that the joy and there is that note that take notes of our mood and make it move. My favorite has been ABBA, there is the flow and there those words that make our life meaningful…
Thanks for sharing such a lovely set of music.

    1. Beautifully summarised Nihar. ABBA was one group which has songs on everything we call as Life. Whether it is love found, love lost, dreams and aspirations or shattered hopes… you can always connect the emotions with songs of ABBA. They were truly God-gifted and a gift to the music world.

      1. Indeed Preeti, lovely songs with amazing lyrics, so many songs that just keep humming in our ears…lyrics are profoundly meaningful and soaked with emotions. The Winners Takes It All, Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, Take a Chance on Me, Mamma Mia to Chiquitita…rhythm and melody keeps flowing from this wonderful band. I agree they were God gifted and such a joy listening to their music.

  4. I havnt kept up with international songs post my college days. But Words remains that one song that has the ability to stir many emotions in me even today. Liked your list.

Let me know what you think of my post :)
